The desk · Benoa, Denpasar

Most transactions here fail in the middle, not at the handshake.

An unverified document, a survey nobody conditioned the contract on, a deposit that moved before the papers did. Valuation, listing, marketing, negotiation, survey, escrow and closing — run end to end by one desk.

In short

One desk instead of six separate service providers. You deal with the same people from the written valuation through to the bill of sale.

  • Realistic timeline: three to nine months from listing to closing for correctly priced vessels.
  • Success-fee based. No sale, no commission — typically 5–10% depending on vessel value and complexity.
  • Vessels lying elsewhere in Indonesia are handled through local surveyors and port agents, never guessed at from a distance.

The mandate

Five stages, each with a named deliverable

Whether you engage us to sell or to buy, the mandate runs the same sequence — so you always know what you are paying for.

  1. Valuation

Comparable sales, replacement cost adjusted for refit, and for commercial vessels an earnings multiple. A written range, not a single flattering number.

  2. Listing

Specification sheet, photography, document audit and a disclosure file prepared before the first enquiry.

  3. Buyer matching

Curated placement rather than classifieds volume: our buyer register, operator and captain networks, selected international channels.

  4. Negotiation

Offers presented in writing with our recommendation, then the memorandum of agreement, escrowed deposit and survey condition period.

  5. Survey & closing

Independent survey and sea trial, findings negotiated, then payment release, bill of sale, re-registration and handover with inventory.

The desk is at Benoa, Denpasar — Bali’s principal deep-water harbour and the natural viewing point for most brokered vessels. We also transact at Serangan, Lombok, and through the specialist desk at Labuan Bajo.

Two different jobs

Acting for the buyer is not the mirror of acting for the seller

The job

Buy-side mandate
Hunt, verify and negotiate down
Sell-side mandate
Prepare, market and negotiate up

Starting point

The current listings desk
Sell-side mandate

Sourcing

Buy-side mandate

Sell-side mandate

Who pays

Buy-side mandate
No commission in a standard sale
Sell-side mandate
Success fee on closing, from escrowed funds

We take either mandate — never both sides of the same transaction without written disclosure to both parties. Our default is single-mandate representation, so the negotiating duty is never divided.

Above 30 metres

Larger transactions, typically 30 metres and above, follow a different rhythm: owner representatives rather than owners, MYBA-style documentation, class-survey requirements and flag counsel.

We support sales for owners based in Jakarta, Singapore and Hong Kong whose vessels sit in Indonesian waters — Benoa, Batavia Marina, or on charter rotation in the east.
