Liveaboards for sale, curated by type not by length.

Dive boats, expedition vessels and long-range conversions, typically trading between USD 250,000 and 4 million. Certification status and verified earnings move price more than length does.

A dive liveaboard at anchor in eastern Indonesia

In short

The desk covers all Indonesian waters. Vessels lying in remote cruising grounds are surveyed through local specialists, with viewings scheduled around their charter rotations rather than forcing an expensive repositioning before sale.

  • Most good liveaboards sell while still running charters — forward bookings are verified and honoured through a structured handover.
  • Escrow release is tied to licence transfer, so the operation never stops earning between owners.
  • Raja Ampat and Sulawesi vessels are included; the desk is national by design.

Four types

Liveaboard classes we broker

Dive liveaboards

Compressor rooms, nitrox, camera stations, tender fleets. Our listings separate what works today from what is aboard but offline.

Wooden phinisi

The Sulawesi schooners that define Indonesian expedition cruising. Timber rewards specialist survey discipline.

Steel & expedition

Range for Raja Ampat and Banda seasons. Steel forgives hard use but hides its sins — ultrasonic thickness testing is non-negotiable.

Sailing conversions

Monohull conversions and liveaboard catamarans running smaller-group itineraries.

Vessel records and certification files on a desk

What to check

Four files decide an ex-operation purchase

Almost every liveaboard changes hands with a refit conversation attached. Budget for it rather than be surprised by it: a sensible planning figure is 10–20% of purchase price for a vessel coming straight off hard seasonal operation.

  • Hours against records. Liveaboards run generators around the clock; service history matters more than the headline figure.
  • Certification. Passenger capacity, safety equipment dates, and whether class or flag survey is current.
  • Transferability. Crew and licences decide whether you are buying a vessel or an operation.
  • “Just refitted”. Deserves the same scrutiny as everything else — ask what was actually replaced.
